About me:

I founded Convective, an investment firm making the world more resilient to disasters.

I’m also the founder of Red Sky Summit and was founding chair of AFI, an organization that advocates for better wildfire policy.

I own 340 acres of Douglas Fir and Redwood timber that I actively manage for conservation, wildfire resilience and timber production.

Along with Kat Mañalac, I host Disasterproof, a show about people making the world more resilient to disasters.

I live in San Francisco with my wife, two kids, and an overly affectionate Rhodesian Ridgeback named Penny.

Things I’ve done:

• Founder & CEO of WePay, a fintech company acquired by J.P. Morgan in 2017.
• Angel investor in 60+ companies including Mercury and Deel.
• Part-time partner at Y Combinator (2016-2019).
• Logged 700+ hours as PIC in a Cirrus and Citabria.
• Volunteered with the AVFD and the American Red Cross.
